Auto theft/recovery – locate/determine VIN’s, detect altered VIN’s, remain alert/make inquiries as to common motives for false reporting and examine for common physical indicators of auto theft (e.g., tampered ignition, driver does not know name of owner and/or presence of burglary tools, etc.).
